Halloween has passed and the holidays are on the horizon - in the meantime, we have November in New Orleans: festivals aplenty, and lights going up around the city. Here's our highlights:

Bayou Bacchanal
The original Caribbean Carnival of New Orleans! It’s back for a colorful, vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture and heritage.

Mermaids at Audubon Aquarium
For 12 days this month, mermaids will dive beneath the surface of the Great Maya Reef, home to stingrays and tropical fish. On each visit, guests will see the mermaids swimming, meet a mermaid up close, enjoy exclusive merchandise, and learn about ocean conservation. More info

Winter Wonderland XIV
AllWays Lounge
A fundraiser for Winter Wonderland XIV and its chosen non profit. Performances by: Tsarina Hellfire & Stanley Roy, Ooops the Clown, Nicki Nicolai, Vivacious Miss Audacious, Eddie Lockwood, Ant Zelda and Marshall Harris. More info/tickets

Tremé Creole Gumbo Festival
If you love brass bands and gumbo – or, better yet, enjoying some delicious gumbo while listening to brass bands playing live in beautiful Louis Armstrong Park – this is the event for you!

Illuminated costumes, couture, and creativity take center stage, combining dynamic contemporary art and technology in a huge public art festival. Free and exciting fun for all ages.

Music has always been at the heart of New Orleans, but for people in recovery, music-oriented events can often be places where they feel challenged or excluded. Bridge House / Grace House are proud to host an alcohol-free music festival where everyone can come together to enjoy amazing artists. More info
